Why Vacation in Miami Beach?

Thinking of going on vacation but not sure where to go? If you live up north or somewhere in the world where the weather can be gloomy, wouldn’t it be nice to spend your time in a place like Miami Beach? Palm trees and sunshine are ample. Maybe my affinity stems from the simple luxuries that Miami Beach offers. I wake up every morning to radiance and tropical weather. I can dress in bathing suits, shorts, dresses, tank tops, flip-flops, etc. and not have to worry about styling woes. The climate offers people an opportunity to explore different fashions and wear things they never have a chance to – like some adorable sundresses. The weather allows for sun, sand, and clear blue

water to become one of the biggest highlights of Miami Beach. You can go from land to water in just a few minutes; tropical paradise is an understatement. For the thrill seekers, renting a boat or a jet-ski, learning to windsurf, snorkeling or scuba diving are accessible and exciting. Don’t worry if that isn’t quite your style – Miami won’t punish you. The restaurants and family friendly parks abound the coast. Shopping is made easy in the heart of South Beach. Walk along the outdoor strip known as Lincoln Road Mall and find a store or restaurant for every character under the sun. For the serious buyer, outlet malls such as Sawgrass Mills, Aventura and Bal Harbor Shops are easy to get to when hotels such as the San Juan can easily contact car or shuttle services and bus tours. The best thing about Miami Beach is having so many different cultures and traditions in a single area; there is always something new to try or see. Just a simple walk from your hotel to places like Ocean Drive or Espanola Way will demonstrate its diversity. The architecture, the food, the fashion, the music… they appear to be living, breathing elements that iconize Miami Beach. Truly, our City never sleeps either. Downtown Miami energizes the people into the wee hours of the morning, either with its clubs or Wynwood art scene that revitalizes the region with creativity and inventiveness. Come and see it all for yourself. -Lucia Belen SJH South Beach Lucia Belen is a student at Miami-Dade College currently majoring in Communications.
