Sunfest Music and Arts Festival (May 2-5)
West Palm Beach’s waterfront will transform into a gigantic party for a weekend full of activities and excitement. From performances from some of the best artists to a breathtaking fireworks display, this is not an event you will want to miss. The weekend will also feature a fine art and crafts competition and a 5k race. A one-day pass for adults is $47, but discounts are available for youth and seniors. Fort Lauderdale Air Show (May 4-5)
If you are looking for an exhilarating outdoor activity, what better than feeling the earth rumble below you as massive military jets soar above you? The Fort Lauderdale Air Show will feature the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demo Team along with military jet flyovers, parachute teams, civilian aerobatic acts and formation flights teams. Brew at the Zoo (May 11)
What better way to visit the zoo than with a cold beer in hand? With more than 100 craft beers and dozens of food vendors, Brew at the Zoo is one of South Beach’s premier May events. General admission includes unlimited beer samples. Even if you are not attending for the beer, there will be so many live performances that make this event very worthwhile. This year’s entertainment will feature “Locos por Juana,” a GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY-nominated bilingual band that has been noticed for their fusion of reggae funk, cumbia, salsa, and rock. Redland International Orchid Show (May 17-19)
This three-day event will feature over 50 booths of colorful blooms, making it the largest annual orchid show in the country. Aside from seeing these beautiful and exotic orchids, there will be lectures by experts, raffle prizes, and plenty of orchid-themed trinkets to purchase. Miami Beach Air And Sea Show (May 25-26)
This Memorial Day weekend, you can pay tribute to those who have served our country at the Miami Beach Air and Sea Show. All five branches of the military — the army, the navy, the air force, the marines, and the coast guard as well as the police, firefighters and first responder agencies — will be represented.
