Ideas for a Girls’ Weekend in South Beach

Girls’ Weekend – Are you planning a weekend getaway for you and your girlfriends? From the most scenic beaches to the hottest nightclubs, South Beach Miami has it all. In addition to perfecting your tan and dancing the night away, there are so many ways to pamper and entertain yourselves that you will not want to leave this paradise. To help plan your South Beach vacation, below is a list of things you and your girlfriends should do before you leave.

Where to Stay:

When booking a hotel, you will want one that is centrally located to the heart of the city. SJH South Beach fits the bill because it is just minutes away from Temple Emanu El, the New World Center, Miami Beach Convention Center, the Bass Museum of Art, and so much more. On top of its central location, you and your girlfriends will love sipping your favorite drinks at the poolside bar.

Where to Eat and Drink:

South Beach is perfect for food lovers because it offers such a diverse array of cuisines. For fresh seafood, Joe’s Stone Crab is a must. Since 1913 South Beachers have been flocking to this restaurant to taste their famous stone crabs which are served along with their signature mustard sauce. For some Spanish flare, you can also head over to the Bazaar for a variety of tapas that are brimming with flavor. If you and your girlfriends are craving authentic Italian cuisine, look no further than Macchialina. The restaurant’s house-made pasta and creamy polenta are sure to have you licking your plates clean.

Of course, no getaway is complete without a few drinks. The Rum Line is an outdoor Caribbean-inspired cocktail bar that will keep you buzzed until 2 am in the morning. If you and your girls are looking for a more sophisticated bar, then Delano’s Rose Bar is the place to go. You are sure to have some wonderful conversations while sipping your drinks on their outdoor terrace.

Where to go out:

For over 15 years, Club Space has been South Beach’s after-hours club of choice. Although somewhat far from the South Beach scene the club not only books some excellent DJs, but the atmosphere encapsulates everything you could ask for in a night out in South Beach: lively dancing, tropical vibes, and staying up way too late. If you make it to sunrise (which should be enjoyed from the rooftop terrace), keep your eyes peeled for the complimentary cafecito that’s passed around.

Right on South Beach, there’s Mango’s Tropical Cafe, a preferred venue for those who like salsa and other Latin rhythms. Plus, you can have a great dinner while you watch others dance!  Trade nightclub is another favorite venue that plays EDM until the early hours of the morning.

For a one-of-a-kind night out head over to Basement. Want to bowl with your friends on funky lanes? You can. How about some ice skating on an adorable indoor rink? You can do that too. And, of course, there’s plenty of dancing, everything from open format hip-hop to Carl Cox and the occasional live performer.

Where to Shop:

No getaway with the girls is complete without a little shopping. Lincoln Road Mall is one of Miami’s most popular shopping destinations. This mile-long mall is equipped with designer stores, delicious dining, sidewalk cafes, bars, and so much more.

What to do at the Beach:

There is no shortage of activities when you are your girlfriends are ready to hit the beach. In addition to being the perfect place to soak up some sun, the beach area offers everything from rollerblading and biking to kayaking and jet skiing. There are cabanas that you can rent all along the beach and a path that is over a mile and a half long for biking, blading, and the like. There are also a wide variety of boutiques, restaurants, and cafes within easy walking distance.
