Miami has an abundance of free, accessible, and fun parks for your children. But which ones are best? There are certain qualities to look for such as cleanliness, safety, good equipment and facilities, and shaded areas. To ensure your young ones have a fun, active day, below is a list of five wonderful parks in Miami.
Coral Reef Park
This 50-acre park features a jogging and biking path, beach volleyball courts, tennis courts, as well as baseball, softball, and football field. It is the ultimate destination for all family members. Coral reef also houses several different playgrounds, which are sorted by age.
A.D. Barnes Park
Spanning 65 acres, Barnes is one of Miami’s best parks. Your children will love the various activities such as fishing off the pier, swimming in the outdoor pool, shooting hoops at the basketball court, cooling off at the splash pads, learning about wildlife at the nature center, and the various camp activities. There is also a well-equipped playground that will keep them entertained for hours.
Tropical Park
As Miami’s most famous park, Tropical Park hosts several exciting activities each year. It also contains a few covered playgrounds for both younger and older kids. If you wish to make a day out of it, pack some food to grill up at the barbecue pit and bring a ball to kick around in the open fields.
Salvadore Park
This quiet neighborhood park is wonderful for children and peaceful for parents. There are two playgrounds — one for older children and another for younger ones — that feature high quality equipment over soft, padded flooring. The park also has lots of shady areas, so you can stay cool all summer long.
Make sure you and your children check out all these parks for a day of fun.
