May 22, 2018
We might be halfway through one of the best months in Miami, but don’t let that get you down: May still has plenty of great events to offer. This May, we’re looking forward to one of the year’s most anticipated hip-hop festivals, trying some Caribbean fare at Taste of Haiti, and maybe even grabbing a few brewskies at the annual Brew at the Zoo. Oh, and did we mention Justin Timberlake is in town?
Rolling Loud Festival
More than 40 of the world’s best hip-hop artists will descend on Miami from May 11 to 13 for the three day Rolling Loud Festival. Tickets start at a hefty $299, with some of the big names including Lil’ Wayne, J. Cole, Travis Scott, and Future.
HOT Challenge Golf Tournament
Golf isn’t just for millionaires; in fact, for years the Miami Beach Golf Club has been promoting golf as the perfect sport for the masses. After all, people of all ages, shapes, and sizes can not only play but enjoy this unique sport. So from May 11, don’t miss the HOT Challenge over on Miami Beach. It’s a great opportunity to see some serious golf action, plus proceeds go to funding scholarships for African American tourism students.
Brew at the Zoo
Whether you’ve been working up a sweat in the mosh pit or on the golf green, sometimes you need to just sit back and relax with a cold one. So why not hit up Zoo Miami’s annual Brew at the Zoo? Tickets start at $25 for this special event at the zoo, replete with live music and – of course – plenty of beer. Over 100 international and local brews will be on offer.
Taste of Haiti
If you’re getting hungry, then head over to Taste of Haiti on May 13. They’re offering a mix of traditional Haitian classics with modern cuisine – all made by some of Florida’s best Haitian chefs.
Justin Timberlake: Man of the Woods
It’s happening. Justin Timberlake will be bringing his Man of the Woods tour to Miami on May 18.
Haitian Compas Festival
Still hungry for more of Haiti? Soak up the sounds of classic and contemporary Haitian music at this month’s Haitian Compas Festival. Entry prices start at $20.
Sizzle Miami
Five days and five nights of non-stop partying? Yeah, Sizzle Miami is in town, and this year it’s going to be massive. From May 24-28, Sizzle will be putting on parties at various locations across Miami. It’s one of the most anticipated LGBT+ events nationwide, and it’s going to be a blast.
Best of the Best Concert
Looking for something to do this Memorial Day weekend? On May 27, the Best of the Best Concert will present some of the – well, the best of the best contemporary music. It’s an eclectic line up of pop, reggae, hip-hop and more. Ticket prices start at $38.
Air & Sea Show
What would the Memorial Day weekend be without a moment to remember the troops? If you’re expecting a somber affair though, you might be in for a surprise on May 26 and 27, when the Air & Sea Show hits Miami in the lead up to Memorial Day. During this two day exhibition of all branches of the US armed forces, you’ll be able to get up close and personal with some serious military hardware. The jet flyovers are unmissable.
